DESCRIPTION
The atmosphere is enthralling! Enter a lobby
adorned by grand pillars, arches, iron lanterns,
ceilings of painted swirls, and mosaics with
suspended fans reminiscent of the classic
film, "Casablanca." The resort's very own
trolley sweeps guests through landscaped gardens,
past a raised gazebo bar, arriving at the
private Riu Beach Club. Great-carved doors
open to the Jalisco Restaurant, bedecked in
early Mexican décor with an extensive international
buffet. Or enjoy informal dining at the Lupita
Restaurant (reservations required). Tropical
greenery and boulder rock landscaping encase
a gorgeous swimming pool, and the La Piñata
Disco attracts the dancing crowd from all
of the Riu hotels. Great choice for families

This Hacienda-style resort is surrounded by
an incredibly beautiful natural landscape
and forms part of an exceptional Golf Resort.
Each air-conditioned room features a hair
dryer, mini-bar, in-room safe, ceiling fan,
balcony or terrace.
The Mexican Street offers a vast array of
shops, services and boutiques. Guests can
also enjoy food and beverage service until
2am, free entrance and drinks at two discos,
and the use of all of the bars within the
Riu complex (except those at Riu Palace).
Men are required to wear long pants for dinner
at the theme and specialty restaurant.
Riu Tequila is just 3 km from the small town
of Playa del Carmen, with its restaurants,
shops, bars and nightlife. The convenient
location makes the island of Cozumel and the
archaeological sites of the Yucatan easily
accessible.
Beach The Riu Tequila shares the same
beach as The Riu Yucatan, which is just 400
meters away (5 minutes walking distance).
The resort does provide shuttle service to
the beach, where guests will find free towels
and sun umbrellas.

Golf Playacar Golf Club - 1 mile
This championship-level golf course was carved
right out of the jungle by the Robert Von
Hagge Associates. This 7,202 yard course is
rated 73.1 and has plenty of tee boxes for
every level of play. It is situated next to
Playa del Carmen.
